Centauri employees and neighboring businesses collected items for local homeless families.
Centauri Insurance held a charity drive for The Blessing Bags Project in April 2016. The local organization collects hygiene products, sunscreen, hand sanitizers and other toiletries for homeless children and their families throughout Sarasota, Manatee and Pinellas counties in Florida. With hundreds of donations collected by our employees, neighboring businesses and our partners at Tandem Construction, we were able to fill tons of bags for the charity. In conjunction with Bring Your Sons & Daughters to Work Day on April 28, children from Centauri and Tandem joined forces to sort and bag all of the items to be delivered.
Centauri’s 3rd Annual Half Marathon took place in Portland, Maine at the Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon July 11, 2015.
Centauri received donation commitments in the amount of $5,250 that will be split equally among Meals on Wheels of Manatee County and Nate’s Animal Honor Rescue.
Runners received pledges for an organization of their choice and Centauri matched up to $500 for each:

Team Centauri team members and their families, engaged in friendly competition for a good cause in the SRQ 5K SUP and/or 5K Run on May 16, 2015. Participants had the option to take part in a 5K Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) race, a 5K run or both. Centauri’s very own Vice President of Sales and Agency Relations, Felicia Cox, served as the Race Director for this wonderful event benefiting Operation Second Chance, a non-profit group, committed to serving our wounded combat veterans and their families’ recovery and transition from active duty back to civilian life.

On February 21, 2015. Centauri Specialty Insurance co-sponsored the annual “Make a Difference 5K’ run in Jackson, MS, with SouthGroup Insurance of Mississippi. Participating From Centauri in running the event were Regional Sales and Product Managers Mike Ely and John Meyer.
Proceeds from the 5K run benefited the Friends of Children's Hospital for the Blair E. Batson’s Children's Hospital at University Medical Center in Jackson. The Batson Children’s Hospital is Mississippi’s only hospital specially equipped for the care and treatment of sick and injured children. The Child Life Program focuses on the psychosocial well-being of young patients using a wide range of activities to teach patients to cope and learn about their condition, procedures they will receive and to normalize their hospital experience.
Congratulations to SouthGroup Insurance Services for leading such a great event for the Mississippi community. Centauri was proud to contribute to such a worthy event.
Centauri Team at Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue
Centauri hosted their second annual Executive Planning and Team Building event during the week of Mon., July 29 – Fri., Aug. 2, 2013. During this week, Centauri employees gathered at the corporate headquarters in Sarasota, Florida for a week of strategic planning and team building.As part of Centauri’s commitment to give back to the community, employees headed out after Wednesday’s meetings to volunteer at Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue. There they pitched in wherever needed!
Centauri Insurance helped sponsor the first annual IIABL Trusted Choice Bowling Tournament which raised $26,185 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Nearly 400 Louisiana Trusted Choice insurance agents bowled on February 21-22, 2013 in Shreveport, Monroe, Lafayette, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The $26,185 raised will fulfill the wishes of four Louisiana children with life threatening diseases this year.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

The Independent Insurance Agents of Mississippi and the Independent Agents & Brokers of Louisiana teamed up to sponsor a joint Young Agents Conference last year.
Centauri staff members were on hand to welcome and help mentor young agents. They also participated in a golf tournament with these future business leaders. Among the attendees were Brandon Amacher with Insurance Center of Meridian in Mississippi, John Morgan Mims with Insurance Center of Meridian, John Meyer, Centauri Regional Sales and Product Manager and Jeff Williams with Record Agency in Clinton, Louisiana.
Congratulations to the Fairhope Pirates, managed and coached by Andy and Matt Malone of the Malone Insurance Agency in Fairhope, Alabama. The Pirates won the 7 to 8-year-old Alabama Dixie Youth State Baseball Tournament and traveled to Walterboro, South Carolina to participate in the World Series. Centauri was proud to support the Malones and the Fairhope Pirates!
As part of Centauri’s commitment to give back to the community, employees volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Centauri employees sorted food into boxes that were shipped out to families less fortunate during the holidays. Employees then took a tour of the facility and learned about Meals on Wheels and their mission to assist individuals to live independently by providing nutrition and caring supportive services. Centauri employees left feeling like they made a difference in the community.
